Emme has been a trusted voice in the fashion, wellness, beauty, and news industries for more than 20 years, and she is widely regarded as a trailblazing social reformer for women's empowerment and positive body image. She is the founder of the True Beauty Foundation, whose mission is to enhance young people's mental wellness.

Emme's passion is to "feel extraordinarily free in our bodies and live our most inspired lives possible" as a TV personality, brand spokesperson, TV and podcast host, consultant, author, Revlon spokeswoman, keynote speaker, and creative director of her clothing lines (EMME®, mebyEMME®, and TrueBeautybyEMME®).

She is the first celebrity invited to address a Congressional subcommittee in Washington, D.C. about body image and self-esteem with the goal of raising public awareness. 

 

Emme was chosen twice for People Magazine's "50 Most Beautiful People," and Ladies' Home Journal named her one of the "Most Important Women in America" and one of the "Most Fascinating Women of the Year." In 2018, Oprah Magazine dubbed her the "Godmother of the Full-Figured Industry." Emme is also a TEDx speaker. She has also been recognized as one of the "Women of the Year" by Glamour Magazine and one of the "25 Most Influential Women" by Biography magazine. Emme has served as an ambassador for the National Eating Disorders Association for many years. She is also a trustee for Kent School, a board member of the Model Alliance, and an honorary board member of Project Heal.

Emme draws on her 30 years of experience in the TV, fashion, and beauty industries to serve as a sought-after consultant in the fields of media, healthcare, marketing, and retail. She is committed to promoting positive body image and "celebrating a woman's body(™)," and the media routinely interviews her on a range of subjects including eating disorders and body image, fashion and beauty trends, marketing, inclusive fitness, wellness, overcoming cancer, and women's health. She has frequently appeared as a guest to discuss these issues on shows like the Today Show, GMA, CBS The Early Show, CNN, MSNBC, HLN, OWN, FOX News, OMG! Insider, Huff Post Live, Access Hollywood, Entertainment Tonight, and others. 

Emme has authored five books translated into a variety of languages, TRUE BEAUTY (Putnam), LIFE’S LITTLE EMERGENCIES (St Martin’s Press), MORNING HAS BROKEN (Penguin), WHAT ARE YOU HUNGRY FOR? Emme's love of the outdoors and commitment to physical fitness fuel her active lifestyle, which includes triathlons, rowing, snowshoeing, boogie boarding, hiking, yoga, swimming, and, yes, camping.
