As a matter of fact, I cannot look at myself in the mirror while I am in yoga class. I will take a quick glance to check my position, but that is all. Hmm, while I am at home, I can look at myself and feel strong and beautiful. I must be comparing myself to the other bodies in the room. My gym is not full-figured friendly--a monthly campaign to lose weight! get in your skinny jeans! get your bikini body ready by getting rid of your flab! on and on...we won't be going back.
My niece works at a lingerie store and measured us(4 women). I thought I was a 38C--I am a 34-36DD and my boobs have never been happier!
Has anyone else had a body renaissance without losing weight? Making friends with you body right NOW?
My lesson came lately when I started battling peri-menopause weight gain. Why was I obsessing over a number on the scale? Why did I feel desperate and depressed and powerless? Lots of questions that I am just now starting to answer...and making friends with my body for the first time in my life.

Making friends with your body is something to congradulate you on! No more body bashing!!!
Life really is too short to mentally abuse ourselves. Be healthy, mind, body and spirit, at least make that the goal!

I got these great motivational, positive thinking cards from a friend one xmas and among them are cards that read "I love my ankles", "I love my neck" "I love my heart". It wasn't until I read those cards (and then taped to them to all the surfaces in my bedroom) that I realized I hadn't given my body parts a second thought. Now I truly notice my ankles and see that I DO love them, the way they look, how they carry me around ALL the time, and how strong they are. Thanks body.

I got measured at Victoria's Secret, and I had been wearing a 36D. In fact, I'm a 36 DD, and I made the upgrade. I look better, my cup doth not runneth over anymore (lol), and my posture and stress on my shoulders and neck are better.
