After our daughter grieved the loss of her peep, for a long time...too long, we saved up for a ragdoll kitten. They are worth every penny. I cannot say enough to praise this breed. My daughter was a dog lover, but would never trade this precious pet for anything else. She's almost perfect. Fuzzy will ride in the doll stroller, on her back, with a blanket over her, holding a toy---for hours. She doesn't scratch anyone or bite (of course she is NOT declawed). The wait for the day to pick her up from the breeder did feel like forever, but this was the living joy that put cheer back into our daughter's life. #1 pet for children and would be #1 as a companion for any age. They also are great for the allergic, as ragdolls are kind of like bunny fur (my husband doesn't get ill from her) and they tolerate bathing well. Ragdolls are worth their weight in platinum! I hope this helps someone out there that really needs a pet as a friend. In our home- Fuzzy is a best friend to us all.

This is great to know...I'm allergic and love cats, and my son wants one so badly. I'll have to look into this kind! She is absolutely adorable!

Congratulations to all of you! I'm so glad you found a kitty who's just right for your house. She is beautiful, and I don't dare show her picture to my cat-crazed daughter! We've already got a beautiful turquoise-eyed black cat (to whom I AM allergic, but manage), and she Owns The House. No Vacancies.
So give your Ragdoll kitty a kiss for me, will you please?

What are your symptoms with your cat tealadylaine? I am wondering if I should just go for it and get one...I think they are mild but dont want to make a mistake and need to return it...

Emme, whenever I get near my cat, I get the typical allergic symptoms - sneezing, runny nose - as well as a more asthmatic wheezing in my chest. I take a Mucinex with an antihistamine, and that takes care of the symptoms so I can cuddle Miss Sarah (having her groomed regularly also helps a lot). What are your symptoms? Have you ever been tested? Perhaps the dr. determine the severity of your allergy before you make a decision about the cat?
