Sticking Out Your Neck

I came across a great quote today:

"Behold the turtle. He makes progress only when he sticks his neck out." ~James Bryant Conant

I'm a totally visual person. I often relate difficult scenarios/decisions to taking a deep breath and stepping off a ledge but I think this one is much better. No?

I've Got My 'Eye' on You

It's been so long since I've been here. In June I took the plunge and had Lasik eye surgery. What an event that has turned out to be. It's been so hard not spending as much time on the computer. I think I'm more neurotic than I was before!

While the actually surgery is basically pain-free (they numb the eye) I've had a very uncomfortable recovery. But I guess that is the key word "recovery". It doesn't happen over night. I'm told it will be 3 - 6 months before I feel/see normal again.

Don't get me wrong, I can see spectacularly compared to pre-surgery but the perfectionism of it varies from day to day. And it's really weird walking around every day with the feeling like I went on a bender and fell asleep with my contact lenses in.

If you have poor vision I definitely recommend researching and talking to lots of people who have had.

Chloe Marshall

Crown

Chloe Marshall is the recent winner of Miss Surrey, a beauty pageant in the UK. She is now competing for the title of Miss England. She has received mostly favorable reviews but she's received a few harsh ones too.

I personally think she's stunning and hope she wins so she can go on to be the first plus size candidate to compete in Miss World.

Here's a lens I created in her honor.

Following Your Dreams - quote

"Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead." ~Louisa May Alcott

Have a great weekend everyone! Moe
