I am cancer free!

After 10 chemotherapy treatments with my incredible Dr. Mears at Columbia Presbytrian and his sweet, caring and loving nursing staff, the hundreds and hundreds of ounces of green juice, sticking to a gluten free diet, essential oil applications of lavendar, lemon, peppermint and a slew of other oil blends, frequent meditation sessions, a handful of prayer circles, dear friends who stepped up, called, were chemo buddies, brought dinners, picked up groceries, got my house cleaned, hired a masseuse, helped me relax, and the help of my sweet daughter who kept my hair cut just right, as well as letting me know "everything is going to be alright" on the days I couldnt get out of bed, my family...you rock!!! To those of you who offered tips, ideas and thoughtful suggestions that helped your journey through cancer treatment...I say THANK YOU! It all helped and now I am on my road to surviving and thriving. To say this was a gift may sound strange, but in so many ways it has been and one I will share with you in months to come.

I am especially grateful to my business collegues who didn't let my cancer scare them from hiring me and not acting shocked when I showed up on sets with short platinum blonde hair...(a high five to the school who thought that I was Brigette Nielson on VH-1's Flav a Flav no matter how hard I tried to convince them that I was in fact, not!)

Over the last 7 months I shot a variety of videos clips that I am in the process of piecing together. My hope is that it will be edited and complete to share with you in early 2008. I am in the process of collecting all the information and healing modalities I used and those that I continue to use in post treatment so we can learn together what might work for people in different situations.

The non toxic/holistic juicing and essential oil "receipes" that I used to help eliviate the symptoms of chemotherapy and boost my immune system were especially welcomed and in my opinion helped me stay vivacious and energetic during the roughest times. Yes, these too will be on line very soon.

I want to give a shout out to my new friend Kris Carr, director of the wildly acclaimed documentary film, Crazy, Sexy, Cancer. She had a quick scare with pneumonia a couple weeks ago but I am happy to say, is much better now! For anyone who has a loved one going through this life altering process, please check out your tv guide to learn when this film will be playing again on TLC. It is an intimate view of what cancer is, how the treatment looks like, and how one can take part in the healing process, proactively!

Never give up!

That's amazing news Emme. I'm so happy for you.

I watched Crazy Sexy Cancer and it was amazing. It's coming out on DVD soon and I recommend that anyone who missed it check it out. I believe Gaiam is the only who will be carrying it.

Hey there BGB:Thank you for checking in. It's on DVD? That's great! I'm going to get a copy when it comes out. Have you juiced green ever and do you use essential oils?

Emme- Remember me? I was your crew coach all those years ago--and I was thinking about you tonight. So what did I find as I discovered your website? You, recovering from cancer and showing the most amazing spirit, which you'ave always had, in facing your own fears while inspiring others. You never cease to amaze me! I've found that since my brother died of AIDS thirteen years ago that the only way to deal with such a deep loss is to make poetry of pain. It seems to me that you are doing the same, in such great style, in your own way. Love to you, beautiful and strong woman. I am thinking of you on your journey and wishing you health and happiness.

Hi Emme or should I say, "SuperWoman" You never cease to amaze me. You once wrote me a note saying that I was your hero, well my dear-that is reciprocated! I was talking to Amy one day, getting a up date on how you were doing and she told me how strong you were and what a fighter. She said that she couldnt think of anyone else who could get through this with such a postive attitude and then she added, "Except maybe you." what an honor to be placed in the same category as you. You have such a fire and tenacity that I only pray that I would have. You are and will forever be my role "model." I love you! Jen or as you once called me (Wonder Woman!)
