EVERY WOMAN COUNTS! Make your voice heard...all the way to the White House

As we embark on one of the most exciting, unpredictable presidential election years in modern history, one thing is clear: women, who constitute more than half the population and vote in greater numbers than men, will play a critical role in the election. In an effort to make sure women’s voices are represented in the media, on the campaign trail and in the halls of power, Lifetime Television, Redbook, CosmoGIRL! and Marie Claire have joined forces to create the Every Woman Counts Coalition, the first-ever nonpartisan coalition of leading women’s media and women’s organizations, and we are hoping that you will join us. Please bring your friends, and family along for this very important push to get every woman in America involved and voting in 2008 presidential election!

The Every Woman Counts Coalition includes women of all political persuasions and demographics, and is committed to: ensuring that issues important to women are part of the campaign dialogue during election season; encouraging women to run for public office; and motivating women to register and vote. This coalition will serve as a valuable resource and will reach a vast number of women, given both its membership base as well as the multiple platforms on which we can communicate.

In addition to providing valuable counsel, our hope is that, as a coalition member, you will: Pledge to meet the coalition’s goals through individual efforts and coalition activities; Publicize and promote within your community and externally the coalition’s efforts; Commit to signing up, with other coalition members, more than 10 million women; Participate in coalition-sponsored activities; and Link to an Every Woman Counts site and/or member sites.

We are very excited about and focused on this coalition, which enjoys the full support of Lifetime Networks, reaching 94 million homes, and Redbook, CosmoGIRL! and Marie Claire magazines, with millions of readers across the country.
